Promotion of Education-Oriented Research Activities on Saxon-Czech Issues
BA or MA students of business sciences, social sciences and the humanities who dedicate their final thesis to a Saxon-Czech theme can apply for financial support for their incurred expenses. Environmental issues are given particular consideration.
An application for the funding of a thesis (usually laid out empirically) has to be submitted prior to the beginning of the (field) work. It must contain information about the content of the work, the methodological procedure, the schedule and an evaluation of the costs. Travel costs as well as costs for accommodation or material are refundable (on the basis of receipts).
An advisory committee decides on the eligibility of a project. It consists of representatives of all participating universities (Chemnitz University of Technology, UJEP Ústí nad Labem, ZCU Pilsen) as well as a representative of the Czech Consulate General in Dresden.
After the submission of the research report, the incurred expenses (or parts of them) are reimbursed according to the valid guidelines. The theses have to be accomplished by May 2012 at the latest.
Applications can be submitted until 15 March and 15 September (for the last time 15 September 2011) at STHI in Chemnitz.
On the one hand, the funding should motivate students to choose their research topics from a Saxon-Czech context. On the other hand, such commitment is rewarded in order to generate subsequent activities.
